But isn't that what trailers are for? I mean I knew nothing about the movie Dark Knight until I saw the trailer on TV and I was like WTF!!! I got to see it! It looks awesome...and it turned out to be awesome.
For some people, trailers are enough. I on the other hand don't want to risk spending ten dollars on a couple hours that I might not enjoy. So unless I have the company of a pretty girl with me, I want to know what to expect when I sit down in the theater. I want to know how the movie stacks up and not just as a brief corporate montage trying to win me over. All the positives and negatives will factor in my decision. You don't get that with trailers, and with video games being in excess of fifty dollars of a movie ticket price, I am that much more discerning prior to the purchase.
But yes, Dark Knight was awesome.
