Though it seems difficult to understand, it is quite simple to understand. See when a politician, like Palin, claims to be a social conservative by labeling herself as one who is against abortions, supports abstinence as the number one line of deIFfense against teenage pregnancy, and is just a down to Earth family woman, etc. etc., then Americans would like to see that actually happen.
Though you are right that Palin has no realistic shot in controlling a 100% of the actions of her children, if your stance is to be a social conservative, you just can't let this happen. If a liberal's child was pregnant before marriage, it isn't bothered much because they never claimed to be a person with moral values. If it happens to a Republican social conservative though, you are gonna face some with raised eyebrows.
