As you can see in my sig, I feel very certain a full on new PSP is coming at the end of next year. Will it happen? Maybe not. Sony always seems to be arrive 6-12 months later than optimal. If it does come, expect an announcement next summer at E3 (if it still exists) or at Games Convention a month later just like the PSP announcement this year. It could also be announced at a random Sony-initiated event like a Gamer's Day.

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
