The problem is that you lost a bit of credibility here. If you haven't played Gears 1 in its entirety, it's a bit hard to acknowledge your impressions on the game, since you didn't even take account of the other details. Don't forget the destructable environments, new story, new character development, new weapons, etc.
Gears 2 is built on the same Unreal engine as Gears 1, so it's a bit normal that it is highly based on its predecessor. Don't judge a book by its cover I say, but impressions are impressions I guess...! =P

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
