Hmmmm let me see. PS2 is $129 and PS3 is $399. There is no chance that gamers are discussing this kind of purchase. In this case money is a huge problem. It's because PS2 buyers are new to the market where as PS3 gamers are still experienced gamers.
However in my opinion Sony already killed the PS2. From now on third party support is keeping it alive.
