I think the main issue is that so many feel they have to declare it to the forums. I mean, really, what is the point? It's not like the Wii is on the same level as a cigarette addiction. If you actually quit, you actually quit. Only somebody looking to incite hateful responses would actually post to a forum about it. Particularly when they also go to great lengths to include as many anti-Wii sentiments as possible in the process.
Call it flamebaiting, call it viral marketing, call it whatever you will, it's unnecessary. All it does is spawn a lot of hateful responses, repeated arguments, and other such nonsense. I made a call to put a stop to it already, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels that way.
