No mention of Tales of Vesperia selling out every single Xbox 360 in Japan 2 weeks ago?
Shame!
At any rate, Tales of Vesperia (the best Tales to date from most Tales fans and reviewers) sold over 100,000 units first week in Japan - while the X360 thumped the PS3 in Japan...24,000 units to 10,000. The X360 has been effectively sold out in the entire country, and MS got caught with their pants down, as they've been ineffective at stocking Japan back up with 360's....No one knows if the huge demand is there still, or not. The word on the street was/is, that the X360 could of outsold the Wii that week too, if there were enough units.
VGC was the exclusive website to break the news, back on August 3rd, about the Xbox 360 price drop - to $199.99 for the Arcade, $299.99 for the 60GB Pro, and $399.99 on the Elite. That was confirmed about a week ago, which has helped VGC's credibility.
Microsoft launched a "summer of Arcade" program with their XBLA games - Geometry Wars, Braid, Galaga Legions, Bionic Commando Rearmed, and Castle Crashers in August. CC looks like it may out-sell Too Human when everything is said and done.
Worldwide-wise, the PS3 has been in a dogfight with the X360 for the past 7 weeks in terms of sales. The X360 beat the PS3 out for a few weeks very handily, but NPD July basically said that VGC was smoking crack, and the PS3 outsold the X360 in July by around 20,000 units...But the X360 still outsold it for 4 weeks or so (oddly enough, the deciding factor in one of those weeks was when the X360 beat the PS3 in Japan. Bizarro world confirmed?).
E3 was insane with the FFXIII announcement, and all heck broke loose on VGC, and every other forum...Fallout 3 exclusive DLC for the X360. Nintendo's E3 sucked. Sonys was good due to the showing of MAG.
Oh, and Microsoft is making cheaper games now to get people to buy games! Banjo Kazooie 3 will be $39.99 USD, and include a free download of Banjo Kazooie on XBLA.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
