I got a free 40inch 1080p Samsung TV with a 2 year contract. If you wanna talk about paying for stuff over time. I didnt even have to deal with a mail in rebate.

I paid 1900$ on my TV. It's on a credit card. If I pay it off over 2 years, I dont pay intrest.
I have a 120$/month cell phone bill. I have received ~900$ worth of cell phones over the last 18months and my contract is up in 6 months. My total bill will be 120*24 = 2880$
I could buy me a DAMN nice Sound system for my TV, AND pay off my TV with that.
Nothing is free. *nothing* (unless it is advertisements)
If you had invested 1900 in Nintendo stock one year ago, you would have earned enough to buy that TV and still have a good lump of change left minus taxes. That's about as close to free as you could get. You look at the deal you get buying things, I look at the deal I can get through investment.
