I definitely prefer a woman that can do those things. The girlfriend I have now can cook and clean. That doesn't mean that she does all the cooking. If I'm dating someone and they say they don't cook, then they are out. I'm not going to cook all the time and I'm not going out to dinner all the time so that is a deal breaker. As for cleaning, my goal is to confuse burglars when the break in by thinking that others have already been here. Well, that's what it looks like anyway. She doesn't clean my place and I don't ask her to. I shudder to think of the massive cleaning that I'll have to do if she moves in with me.
For the record I think there is nothing wrong with gender roles. It doesn't mean that one side does more and the other does less.
