Uraeus said: Will if thats the case I hope it sells like hotcakes, cause what I would like to see become available at some point again is a new PS3 with 4 USB ports and the media card readers (PS2 support is of less importance to me). So if the 160GB model is a way for them to test the water for a high end version then its success could hopefully lead to this. That said I am not sure how great a test it is, I mean just having a bigger disk doesn't give a lot of tangible advantages overthe 80GB model, especially considering how easy and cheap it is to upgrade the PS3 harddrive. |
Agreed. If they're gonna stick their toe in the water they might as well dive in. But I suppose a larger hard drive instead of USB ports and BC saves them some money. Now that you brought it up, I change my mind. If this SKU leads to the reintroduction of a full-feature PS3, then I'm all for it.
A part of the reason I snagged my PS3 when I did (MGS4 bundle) was b/c I definitely wanted the USB ports and BC. I think software BC will come to all SKUs down the line, but I wasn't willing to wait for it. Plus, I'm using the USB ports pretty good, sometimes I even use all 4 (keyboard + mouse + external hard drive + controller). And I'm certain a good deal of the people still in the market for a PS3 would at the very least love to have BC.
