@akuma,

As someone who is considered pro-choice I have to tell you that was a terrible comeback on his part. The comment draws a moral equivalence between executing babies and executing murderers. One is clearly worse than the other.

As for why people stick up for Palin while saying Obama is inexperienced..there are a couple of reasons. First Palin is a VP candidate not a Presidential candidate (regardless of what either of us believe he will be held to a higher standard because of this by voters). And second I compared the information I have about both of them:

From Palin I see a record of getting things done (in an executive office) even if it means fighting her own party. She may have only ~20 months in office but as I've listed above she has done a tremendous amount in that time.

Obama's executive experience, as far as I can find information on him, is limited to his work as the Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Which from the details I've seen they apparently spent 110 million on education programs in Chicago and their own research into what effect it had concluded that it had little or no effect at all. As for his political career he doesn't have a lot to look at in terms of specific accomplishments or legislation to compare to the accomplishments of Palin.

I'm open to looking at more of what Obama has accomplished if I've missed something but from what I've read of his time in both State and US Senate it doesn't seem like he has anywhere near the number (or scope) of accomplishments that Palin does. And that is in part due to the difference between an executive and congressional office. As a Governor you are of course making decisions every day that are your choice alone and which impact the lives of your constituents in a very direct way, so if something goes wrong you take the full blame. As a senator you are able to champion 1 to 3 issues and aside from that you vote like every other congressional member with ultimate very little (if any) direct decision making for your constituents. This is the reason executive experience is highly valued for the presidency, it is the only thing that can prepare you for the kind of choices you have to make in that position.

This is why Obama should be steering clear of the experience issue and focusing on other points. Experience is very important but there are other strengths he can run on and I think he would be very wise to do so.
