If we're talking about clarity, Epic also didn't make Gears of War 1 for PC - it was outsourced, which doesn't go against what Cliff Bleszinski said: "Gears of War is a great franchise first and foremost for Xbox 360, and therefore we're focusing on that platform for Gears of War 2. We've decided we're not going to do a PC version this time around." - so they could outsource it again.
If Epic were to base their decision of porting GeoW2 to PC on the sales of the first game did on PC, then I'm sure they wouldn't port it since it didn't sell much. But ofcourse, that was a time when GFWL asked you to pay monthly fee for full experience. Now that GFWL is completely free, Microsoft could very well use GoW2 for promotion of the reborned free GFW... and no doubt it would sell more than the first.
But whatever.
