The rule of thumb for academia is hot topics are taught and cold topics are not. Iraq wasn't that big a deal when I took geopolitics 515 (its been a while), we hit more on the Cold War, European politics, and stuff like that. If you took the same class today, I bet that Iraq's political history would be a main topic. |
I think the lesson is... just because you took a couple politcal classes doesn't mean you know what your talking about. You are focusing on one thing Kennedy did... and just about any president would of (Outside of like Bush, Buchanon and Pierce.) and called him one of the best. Ignoring all the bad.
Kennedy is right on about level with Ronald Reagan. Guys who did a some good things and some bad things in the cold war. Nowhere near the few trandscendent presidents of our time.
Now do some reading on Teddy Roosevelt and you'll see why Kennedy doesn't come close.
