McCain has been toeing the GOP line in an election year. That's pretty much SOP. Obama, on the other hand, has been toeing the Democrat line his entire career.
As for alternative energy sources, exactly how quickly do you expect this to happen? It will be a decade or more until we see any changes start happening. And, let me guess... You're against nuclear power, aren't you?
