The game in Japan is called Shirokishi Monogatari, when the game only had that name, to avoid saying that most gaming sites translated the game to White Knight Story, and it stuck. Then the official name was given, which is White Knight Chronicles, but since WKS is shorter and better, people keep using it (including me)
