I would say the chain is no less environmentally conscious then the next conglomerate. In fact I would probably say that conglomerates tend to be more ecologically sound, because they are held to much higher standards. Trust me I have worked for a small retailer, and they did things that would get Sam Walton burned at the stake. They were just dumb enough to send someone ignorant to the conference.
In regards to the comment about cardboard game cases. My answer is hell no. A game case exists for one reason and one reason only to protect said game. Something that can get wet, melt, and grow mold is not an acceptable substitute. Perhaps a better resolution would be smaller plastic cases.
