Music I usually watch or listen to on youtube. But I am now playing secret of mana on a SNES emulator so guilty as hell. Still, I have a good excuse - I can't get my wii online and a lot of games didn't even get localised in the EU like secret of mana, or chrono trigger.

Youtube is piracy too!

Or at least a lot of people would argue that.

I mean is it any different if you download things like random anime episodes and music vs playing them on a VOD.

It's the same result... without the annoying hassle of wasted harddrive space.

Yeah, but youtube is so popular now that hardly anyone will consider watching a music video on it piracy. And it's still a much better medium, for an artist to have their stuff on then for instance piratebay.

And yes I do enjoy the freed up hard disc space

Oh yeah... it's really just more a comment on how the lines are really blurred due to technology.

Music "piracy" never used to be illegal until it became really easy to use computers to pirate it.  Copying tapes and taping songs off the radio were perfectly legal.

The truth is... the way money is made off these mediums probably should be changed for the betterment of society in the long run... but won't be.
