Why silent? And even then broadcast began when Russian troops broke the Georgian army from Ossetia ...
This is all information warfare, which Russia lost, unfortunately ...
And if Russia did not intervene, the Georgian army cut the entire Ossetian people and I am more than confident that the west would be made in either the word about this ...

 

The "genocide" was mentioned here in the Netherlands (dunno if you consider this West enough) and I have mentioned it three times now if you care to read my posts thoroughly enough. I just don't call it genocide, but police-actions. Rather messy ones at that. The reason is, genocide means racial killings, mass-murder to cleanse a race or place. I highly doubt the Georgians seeked to stop the rioting of Ossetian millitia by simply eradicating everyone there.

True, throwing grenades in basements without checking is dispicable and Georgia would have recieved major backlash if word got out. But by Russia's invasion these acts simply don't hold a candle to that. Russia drew such attention by clearly invading a country that anything preceding the this invasion like the  police actions in Georgia where overlooked.

Also I find it rather insulting that you do not attempt to go into my other points. Why couldn't the international community handled it? Why couldn't russia wait for approval? Why are they trying to re-instigate sattelite states?
