I kinda think you just supported all those "myths" with your choice of arguments. Homebrew isn't exactly an option for most Wii users, a couple of shooters don't really qualify as "a lot" or as a decent amount of variety, a USB keyboard (which all current gen consoles can use) doesn't make up for all the shortcomings of the Wii's browser, and every console of the last generation could output 480p with component cables.

You sound like you're desperately trying to convince yourself the Wii has no shortcomings, relative to the other consoles. It does.

That doesn't make it a bad console. In fact, the Wii is an awesome machine -- I just don't think trying to highlight bullet points about its greatness, or in this case so-called "faults", is very effective. There's no shortage of Wii love here on VGCharts, or anywhere for that matter.

I would have argued that the Wii isn't meant as a video/audio machine, and so it doesn't need that functionality, that HD is not necessary for good gaming, that like audio/video, the Wii was not meant as a decent browser replacement, and a keyboard isn't the kind of fun, or innovative, input that Wii users want anyway.

The Wii is fun for its wii-ness.  It doesn't need to compare itself to the HD consoles.
