If it's a good game with a well designed demo then it will help the game sell. Personally I always demo a game before I buy if it is possible.
I hate the fact that no Wii games have demos (WHY?? If nothing else at least it would sell Nintendo Mags if they had demo DVD's on them) and I possibly would of bought more games if I could of tried them out.
On the other hand at least 2 of the games I have bought on the Wii I wish I had not and a demo might of prevented me from buying them.
