I think they are afraid of the repercussions that would result if they gave it the score it deserves. 90% of the public in the West won't touch a cel-shaded jRPG. If they say it's as good as Gears, Mass Effect, MGS, or FF, they will get a bunch of angry people that bought it on review that simply don't like the genre. That's my opinion of the issue. |
You bring up some good points, that likely behind rating some games.
As long as fans bear this in mind, reviews don't go to waste.
