I'm a lawyer, so I have been to law school. Of course here in Quebec, we use Civil law instead of Common Law, the law degree you need to be admitted to the bar is a bacchelor's degree and lawyers need to wear a judicial robe to trials (not a powdered wig, thank goodness). We also do a year of Bar School where you learn how to be a lawyer as opposed to your bacchelor's degree which is all theoretical. The failure rate at Bar school is very high, then you need an articleling position (internship).
Best advice: do you required reading BEFORE class. Good luck. :)

*Also don't get it in your head that you are going to strike it rich right away. It takes a long time to get your name out and build enough trust for people to put their (financial or personal lives) in your hands.
