Heh, in the end, they lost majorly. I put Opera on my system, and changed the proxy settings to bypass all of their filter system. Ah port 8084, where would I be without you? With better exam results? Probably... Of course, the technicians cottoned on and decided to go into my account and delete Opera, so I decided to run it off my memorystick... they couldn't delete that file!
Of course, my friends, well-wishers, aquantances and hangers-on decided they wanted a piece of the action to get on Facebook, MySpace, Bungie, teh pr0nz, etc... so by the end of the term the entire school was able to get passed the filter system. I think they have rewritten it over the summer and have spent hundreds of pounds on software to monitor people for the new year. But I couldn't give one, I'm off to college.
