If these means they'll keep buying more devs, preferably Level 5, then I'm all for it.
They seem to have an eye for good devs (Media Molecule, etc.) even if those may not look so great at first (Guerrilla). Once they come under Sony's wing, they usually improve quite a bit as well (like I said, Guerrilla), due to added resources and strong working relationships with Sony's other developers.
In my opinion, expanding their own first party is the best thing they could do, and I really hope they keep doing it. Over the last two years alone they've acquired three developers - Zipper Interactive, Evolution Studios, and Guerrilla Games, two of which will be releasing games in the next six months.
