Meaning it's shipped close to a million. That means a revenue of roughly $50 million. It's dev. costs were wholly paid by MGS and it was also published by MGS, meaning 1/5 of the revenue isn't lost to royalties. Actually, it essentially means that profits = revenue - (cost of development + production). Development costs + marketing for Halo 3, biggest title on the Xbox 360 to date: $60 million. Rumored development costs for FFXIII = $50 million. Rumored development cost for KZ2 = $40 million. So am I hearing this correctly?? Lost Odyssey, an unestablished franchise, without extensive CGI footage, with a licensed engine, somehow exceeded a budget of $40 million?? Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, whatever helps you sleep better at night. |
Quiet you, everybody knows jrpgs only turn a profit on sony platforms and the DS. Any jrpg released anywhere else is bound to both be moneyhatted and lose money.
