Infinite Undiscovery... the concept is far more interesting.

The Tales games are much better than everything SE has done in the last 7 years. The focus is on story and characters rather than graphics. The characters in SE games are lame and generic. Also, the battle system in Tales is really similar to that of Star Ocean and is really fun. Tales is multiplayer but maybe Infinite Undiscovery is as well. I don't know.

That's not always true though.

I'm choosing ToV because according to 1UP Yours, ToV >IU.

Also, ToV is already the 2nd highest rated Tales game(just behind ToS) on Metacritic and Gamerankings and the reviews have been postive so far

Yeah, maybe I exagerated a bit. They are often lame and generic. Like Vaan = Tidus and Yuna = Ashe.

There are great characters such as Auron, Rikku, Balthier or Fran.

I love Tales franchise, in fact Tales of Eternia is one of my favorite games of all time. But were you serious when you said what I bolded? I mean I agree the focus is definitely on the visuals (although ToV looks gorgeous in my opinion) but Tales games were NEVER about characters (to a certain extent) or story, that's just untrue. Of course you could disagree, but that's my opinion and what a lot of people think.

Actually I believe that the only thing that kept Tales of Symphonia, for example, from reaching the 90 levels on metacritic & gameranking is its story, which almost ALL reviewers complained about.

Tales games have generally were about characters.  Character interaction is the 2nd most important element of a typical Tales game(just behind battle system).  The stories in the series were only there for backdrop for character development
