I'll gladly pose this sentence to my professors English and they'll confirm that it is possible to interpret it this way. It's not a common use of the will-form, but it does exist.

Well, technically you're right, but he also said "it'll be hard not being involved..." implying that MGS5 will happen as opposed to might happen. If he said "it would be hard not being..." then it becomes a bit more vague imo
