at least over the Palastinian Authority when it comes to the West bank since Hamas won democratic elections. Clean democratic elections.
They should either be treated as the heads of the would be state. Be it either through negotiation or through their terroist attacks being seen as an act of war.
If it would be known that such acts would be seen as an act of war there might be less of them.
Ignoring elected officials just because you disagree with them is just stupid.
If they ran in guns blazing sure... don't recognize them. But they were voted in... fair and square, and the palestinians should get the full benefits, or more likely in this case... disadvantages of their choice. Since Hamas activities should now be seen as offical state supported acts.
