Are sony competing against both microsoft and the pc market?

I don't see how MS could disrupt Ninty or how Nintendo could screw up so that the 1st spot could be open next gen though.

I have no illusions that Sony will win next gen, I think they'll start selling the PS4 at a profit from the get go and have a moderate success such as the Gamecube, nowhere near it's competitor but still making money and keeping their loyal fanbase happy with first party titles and a few 3rd parties. and then we'll see after that.

 

 I'll go off topic slightly here so i apologise........... in my ideal world there would be NO SONY and NO MICROSOFT in the gaming world............ they are both corporations who got in to this buiseness because they have big wads of cash and because they knew they could enter this market and make a profit......... do i rate either microsoft or sony as gaming talents? HELL NO........ Nintendo and Sega OWN both microsoft and sony....... can anybody honestly say that microsoft and sony are gaming innovators? i dont think so, they both got where they are in the gaming business today because of thier FAT WALLETS, not their gaming genious......... when the history books are written Nintendo and Sega will always be seen as two of the greatest gaming hardaware and software makers of all time, i own a 360 yes, but its only due to my resentment towards how sony got in this business, will sony ever have memorable characters like mario, sonic, link, akira, bowser, knuckles, kirby, shinobi, you know what im getting at,  i want talent to defeat money , i want nintendo to win this war because they came in to the gaming business for the right reasons (to make games and entertain people)

 

ok, sonys most famous games (in house) Drakes fortune, resistance, warhawk , ratchet and clank

 

now nintendos....... mario, zelda, super smash brothers, mario cart, kirby, donkey dong ect

 

now segas....... sonic, shinobi, shenmue, virtua fighter, virtua cop, streets of rage ect ect ect

 

see a pattern developing here

 

nintendos and segas 1st party games blow sonys out of the water and even until armegeddon they will continue to do so

 

hence i like talented people (sega, nintendo) and i hate talentless moneybags people (sony, microsoft)
