Could the PS3 take the place of PS4 Next Gen?

And it won't ever get a library like the PS2's because...

1. The Wii's success WILL make third parties jump ship.
2. 360 keeps getting multiplat games with the PS3.

The PS3 isn't going to last like the PS2. Sony need to focus on next gen and see if they can make a decent profit or else they're screwed a lot more.

 

Actually I see it out lasting PS2, due to SONY wanting to make a decent profit which they will, and Firmware updates to keep it fresh.

 

They cant do it, MS will launch another console and make the PS3 look like the PS3 makes the WII look now.  Heck even the WII will launch another console.  They have 5-7 years max

 

PS2 still does really well, whats to say PS3 wont be like PS2 today, but when PS4 launches?

Because PS2 had like 90% market share of that generations consoles. PS2 install base was MASSIVE.  PS3 as you can see will NEVER have the same conditions that the PS2 had.  They can not get anywhere near the market share they did.  There competion was the Gamecube (sorry ninetendo fans) a dud system and the Dreamcast.  So it was a slam dunk.  This time MS made a decent system and WII knocked it out of the park.  They are fighting for second place.  There is no comparsion between the PS2 and PS3.  Ps2 made tons of money the PS3 has lost billions
