Geldorn said: As a counterpart, to show that MS (NL Division) is not all doom and gloom: I had a broken Xbox 360 (in the Netherlands obviously or this would be pointless) which was out of warranty and had a non-RROD defect (Basically the DVD drive decided to blow up on me. Made a scary noise too - for a second there I thought Mass Effects soundfx where getting a tad too realistic!). Microsoft repaired (ok, replaced more likely - it has a different serial number) the Xbox for me free of charge and apologized profusely for the trouble. It's still working as of today so I'm happy enough. -- Offtopic (about callcenters) I will add that it's often how you treat customer service that makes all the difference. If you stay calm and polite you usually get what you need, but if you start being an a-hole don't expect the other side to care about your problems. |
A. Because they don't want you and others filing a law suit (whoops too late)
B. Because they don't want you switching brands. (They didn't do this for you to be nice they did this for you because they know they fucked up on their machine and they are playing damage controll now. Anything that happens they want to take care of)
C. Really you get what you want by being nice? I usually have to threaten and swear and yell at people before I get what I want.
EX. I paid of my car insurance all at once (It's cheaper than making payments by about a months worth of a payment) I get a bill in the mail... whats this? A bill for the last month for my payments. and whats with it.... an extra bill for not making my payment.... WTF? I call up.
"Um I paid all of it off at once."
"No you didnt"
"No I'm pretty sure i did" (I even tried common sense like this one here) "You can see my payment history. I made one payment. Why would I just pay off such a bizarre amount?"
"I dont know but you did"
"So your telling me I paid monthly payments but only paid 5months worth at one time... that doesn't make sense"
"no it doesnt but you did"
"No I didn't I will tell you what makes sense though your employee who handled my payment charged me for the wrong amount. In which case its not my fault the last payment wasnt paid. Or what makes more sense is he charged me for the right amount because the amount charged is how much it would have been with paying all at once and for some reason he put it down as monthly payments"
"No sir thats not what happened"
"Let me talk to a higher up" (Same bullshit)
"let me talk to a higher up" (Same bullshit but this time a remmebered something) "Hey isnt your conversations recorded?"
"Yes they are"
"Well pull up my conversation I had with the dude the same date my payment was due and youll hear me say 'pay in full'"
"Okay its gonna take 3 days"
Thats when I started swearing and yelling and insulting....(I said anything short of a racial slur) guess what happened. The bill was waived. both of them
I have another story But that one is longer. 2 years a hospital was trying to collect a payment from me for services. But all they had was my name. Didnt have right birthday, insurance infor, address, social, and I wasn't even old enough to recieve service without a gardians consent at the time. 2 years of me telling these people to fuck off. I had to drive to the hospital (which wasnt even close to my house so I wouldnt even have gone there anyways) and yell at them. I even signed a piece of paper showing the different signatures (And my id showing my same signature) and they tried telling me it was my writting. Even after I circled all the different loop styles and such. I told them to scan my hand for scar tissue they couldnt do that. I showed them all the incorrect information. they still tried to tell me to pay. So... I threatened to bring a lawyer... Immediatly they dismissed the bill.
