...and just to be clear, I believe Eurogamer, and Edge magazine will both consign to giving Disgaea 3 and Tales of Vesperia 6/10s.

They gave MGS4 8/10s....6/10 is what you should expect.

Eurogamer and Edge base their scores on innovation, right?

So they say. Frankly, I'm not a fan. It seems like they are trying to change the way games are made with their reviews, punishing games that stick to the same old stuff, but better. It's ideological reviewing, as the reviews aren't based on fun, but rather, "Does your game help progress the industry."

I say bullshit considering Halo 3 and GTA 4 scores.

I completely agree. It doesn't help though that Halo 3 just won most innovative game, at what was called the "Edge awards" or something similar. I'm not sure if it's related to the magazine, but giving Halo 3 "most innovative game" is bullcrap, and shows the industries bias towards hype.

I played Halo 3. The single player was mediocre, the online was fun, but not much better than Halo 2.

I disagree with you here. It was the Online system that won them the award so your opinion on the single player doesn't factor into this. I think they gave the reason as something like the integration between their Theatre mode (Red vs Blue anyone?) Forge, the bungie.com website and the actual gameplay. Its pretty cool stuff but I would say you'd have to get pretty deep into playing Halo 3 online to really understand it all, I don't to be honest.

Tease.
