Tales fans will be interested to know that all the skits are voiced. Which is amazing considering their frequency.

I have plans on playing this game in the future, but this feature right here is turning me off big time from wanting to sit through another 70+ hours Tales game, no matter how great the gameplay is. The voice acting in the demo I found atocious. Thank god the skits are optional.

Optional only if you don't want the Mr.Fluffy-Cat-Eater-Steak-Moose title that requires you watch 4 skits in various places throughout the world before certain events and after others happen.
|
I have no interest in those titles anymore. When I realised you were basically always powerful enough to go straight through the game without breaking a grind sweat, I stopped bothering with recipes, titles and I rode the animal all throughout the overworld. As long as you fight inside dungeons and get better weapons, it's a cakewalk. I'm talking about Symphonia by the way. I haven't played the others to compare, but I hear it's very similiar.

ToS isn't the hardest. Play Tales of Eternia (Destiny II in US). A lot different.

That's ok. It's probably cheaper just to buy Vesperia new than buy Destiny 2 used. Plus, I'm not saying Symphonia was a bad game. I love the basic combat. I just feel the extra features the series is known for are unnecessary.
@Zen-I mentioned never needing to grind in the game, so that would be why I felt recipes were not important. Was there something to accomplish with a powerful team built from grinding? I managed to finish with Lloyd in the 50s and the rest of my starters in the 30s and still beat Ygddrassil on my first run. Also the same effect could be had in battles by buying MP potions instead of food for recipes and you can use a healer on your team in the background to just continuously heal. When they get low, pop them with a potion and they're good to go. Same effect, less hassle.
