Interesting story.

We know how stars work and what causes them to die.
We know how to break apart molecules to get back down to Hydrogen.

However, would it ever be possible to add enough Hydrogen to a older star to give it any measurable amount of continued life? No, I don't think that would ever be possible, thus, extending the life of a star is not possible.

As a species we would have to continue to jump to new planets with younger suns until it was no longer possible.

Then it will end and begin again, just as it has before and will continue to do forever. (By that I am relating to the theory that the Universe will collapse upon itself and initiate a new Big Bang.)
