 That, and the number of different languages and censorship levels being different in different countries.

I know the point of the EU is to create a single powerhouse economy, but there are definite limitations when you have so many different cultures and languages.  People often complain about how "homogenous" the US is from a cultural perspective, but it does make for a powerful economy.
