That may be but he is still close minded as in set in his ways. There is no benefit in for the US in continuing the war. Sure its a good image, and frankly the US needs it but at the cost of everything else? I don't think thats very open. Obama on the other hand is in the middle, a phased draw out. So neither sides get hurt. |
Unless the Iraqi's can't handle it...
Also uh... McCain is for a phased withdrawl too... you really don't know your politics well.
The difference is Obama wants a fixed timetable. We pull out by "So and so" date... period. With an option to move back in if things go poorly.
While McCain wants a floating timetable. We pull out based by how well the iraqi's are handling their own problems. Be it before or after Obamas date.
Either way the pull out date for iraq currently looks like 2011. With late 2009 being when the troops give most duties to the iraqis.
It's a matter if you want a quicker pullout with the risk that we have to go back in and greatly extend the war..... and cause a lot of havoc and cost a lot of lives.
Or if you want a slower more sure pullout where we know Iraq will stay stable.
You'd be better off reading the actual plans rather then buy into one sides campaign hype.
