Color me unimpressed on the in-game driving visuals. I was expecting to be visually blown away. I've got Forza 2 and it takes lot of heat for the graphics but they are primarily focused on the trees and bystanders. The game is otherwise silky smooth, the cars look great as do the track surfaces which is all I care about, really. Maybe it will look better in play rather than stills but there are a lot of jaggies and blur. The rear view mirror and some of the in-cockpit trim is really, really blocky and clearly needs some work. I'm sure they'll iron out those before the final game because they'll take some serious heat if they don't. One of the rear view mirror scenes looks like really, really bad.
I was truly expecting GT5 to be "OMFG" beautiful. The "around the track" stuff is phenomenal but all that is pointless to me. I just care about the racing.
