trestres: it is easily within reason to call MGS4 one of the best games ever. There's no exaggeration needed. Sales have been good, but that's not everything.
I don't think anyone thinks Wii Play is better than Super Mario Galaxy.
Gnizmo: people were excited about Lair because it was freaking fighting with dragons. Sure, there was also the hope for a PS3 AAA title, but a lot of people also just like dragons. It was disappointing. However, I don't think anyone predicted 5 million in sales for any games outside of MGS4 and GTA4. Also, the major point was against HappyRat that seems to think PS3 fanboys are the only unreasonable ones. That's interesting.
On topic: just about everyone in the media and nearly everyone not blinded by fanboyism is excited about LBP. I can't wait for it. I think the negativity about LBP is exaggerated because it's hardly there. I see people asking "why is there so much hate for LBP" but I'm not seeing it. Not nearly as much as there was for MGS4 and GTA4 because LBP appeals to just about everybody. The only people saying they don't want it aren't exactly bashing the game. The only bad thing that is said about the game is that it won't sell much. I think that's wrong, but that's hardly saying the game won't be good.
