Okay, the external DVR device works via laptop.
No reason why it shouldn't have since you'd only be using it as a video input device, but yes, I can play Wii games using my laptop's display.
I'm using a Miglia TVMax with a Powerbook. All you need is the USB device with software to support whatever OS you're using.
