Initially, it's more as learning to optimize the CBE architecture is different from porting an Intel multi-core/GPU set up from PC to 360 (more similar than not), but you seem to be implying that this makes games on the PS3, what; twice as expensive to develop unless they're completed in half the time? Or would that be, it takes twice as long to write CBE optimized code? Again, a lot of speculation being thrown around. Currently, no decision has been made, and as far as anyone outside of the offices of Valve knows, not a line of PS3 specific code has been written for the platform.
Those are the words from a dev, but they can be lazy, dumb, or just non-employed by sony... I just think they are right... |
