What if all three appeared in the same game? Maybe it could be tongue in cheek. Imagine using each character's abilities in the other's home turf. Maybe they are all racing to rescue the same item and they ahve to fight eachother along the way.

I always thought it'd be cool to do a Smash Bros. Esqe Crossover for an RPG. It worked well for Kingdom Hearts and Disney Characters.

Mushroom Kingdom Hearts.  You know it would be awesome.
