Also, it confirms that Star Ocean is a small series, on par or even smaller than Tales Of in Japan.

Finally, it clearly shows that SRPG are far more niche than traditional JRPG.
Too bad we don't have PS1 era, as it would show the best selling SRPG, which is FFT, around 1M units.

But it's understandable, as the company wasn't called Square Enix back then, but Squaresoft, then Square.

Star Ocean and Tales of are actually pretty big in Japan, it's just that DQ and FF are so huge that it makes SO and Tales small in comparison

Fact:FFT was the only SRPG that sold 1 million+ copies in Japan alone
