the reded section is up in the air for me, depends how well the Wii does around xmass.

Around 2009 and 2010 will come the Wii price cuts. Making it cheap enough to be tempting as a 2nd console, or just more affordable. Especially in the parts of the world where the prices are marked up so much.

 

the Wii is already a cheap console, the price for people who want a Wii isnt really a big issue in MOST parts of the world. and the other nations that dont have th money to buy Wiis are not big enough to sustain the sales the Wii is getting

 

Agreed that the Wii is cheaper than a PS3 and mostly cheaper than the X360. However, sub-$200 has been the 'sweet spot' to sell consoles. And when the Wii is dropped to $149, there will be hardcore that say, okay, at that price plus a couple of used Wii games that I've sort of been wanting, I'll buy it. Or to have a 2nd Wii in the house, just like a number of PS2 sold once its price got cheap enough.

Speaking of which, I'd better go grab the Wii now before my daughter gets up or I'll not be able to play on it for hours!
