But no one with the slightest bit of business savvy will turn down the opportunity to sell product to an expanding demographic within a market.

Sure, in the beginning it made less sense when the market was smaller and development costs were higher and the soft units being moved were lower, but since there is little likelihood that the platform is going anywhere but up, a re-evaluation is in order.

The question becomes whether re-allocating work resources (limited personnel) to that expanding demographic (PS3 market) will pay off enough to warrant taking the risk. And PS3 development has been shown repeatedly to be an extremely risky endeavor. It's expensive, and the payoffs in terms of commercial hits seem very mixed at best.

But if the PS3 market continues to expand at a faster rate than the 360 market, it becomes increasingly harder to keep the stubborn attitude that the platform is a "waste of time."
