You don't seem to know anything about valve.
Gabe is a co-founder and the company is privately owned. The co-founder left.
In otherwords he is valve. Owns the company lock, stock and barrel as far as i know.
Also... why would he want to be hired by microsoft. He left there to form Valve in the first place.
