Except he didn't lie. The things he said would be in the game were planned and tried and eventually had to be abandoned because they couldn't make it work on the given schedule, which is part of the problem of getting a creator to talk about a project early in its development. So far, PM seems to have been far more reserved in his comments, and coupled with experiences from Fable 1, that should make expectations for Fable 2 far more reasonable.
