If the demo is suppose to sell me on the game, personally it did the opposite. Having heard so many Sony fans trumpeting the grandeur of this game for a long time, I ended up disappointed.
The game looks great although it's a tad bit too shiny for my tastes. The CGI runs smoothly and looks impressive. From there, the game is just a very polished hack and slash.
Battling dozens of bad guys at one time grew old very fast ( even in this short demo!)
She had some really nice moves and looked rather elegant while attempting to run them through the cheese grater. As some have stated before there is no gore. I could care less, as I don't get off on the morbid desire to see others bleed, but if you are using another persons body as a pin cushion, realistically there would be blood, and lots of it.
The most fun I had in the game was actually having to attempt the QTE-esqe (ala Shenmue) sudden button commands in order to have her perform some stunts well, or at all. I thought it mixed up the pace some and let you interact with some dynamic cinemas.
The controls were ok, nothing stellar though. She didn't move on a dime, rather you're more able to guide her as she attempts to put the enemies through the meat grinder. So attempting to strategize your bladed salvo isn't really an option.
Sixaxis is lowsey but I don't think we have yet to see a decent use this function in a game. (Super Rub A Dub perhaps?)
Overall, based on the demo, I see this a good-looking mediocre game. And, truthfully I see this more as a hyped up hope for the PS3-only cats out there who have been dying for some good games to hit the market before the Holiday season.
This could sell big as a "hardcore" game is needed to tide over many in the PS3 circles and it reeks of a God of War-esque clone.
