For safety's sake, if you're going to try this one, you might want to make a restore point for System Restore first. Switch to a PS/2 keyboard or mouse, then try deleting any entries marked Universal Host Controller or USB Root Hub in Device Manager. Restart the computer. Upon restart, Vista should auto-detect the USB controllers again, and hopefully your devices will work.

My computer doesn't have PC/2 ports. Only usb.
