I have a couple of questions. I'm not suggesting that I'll have an answer if you do answer them, but if I can't help you, they may help someone else.
Do you hear the Vista equivalent of a doong-dnk (shell hardware detection noise) when you insert a USB drive?
Only for the camera. Everything else..no.
If so, does Vista prompt you to install drivers for any of your USB devicees when you insert them?
Yes but it fails to install the drivers. Can you see your newly attached USB devices in the Device Manager?
Again.. only the camera everthing else no. Have you installed SP1?
Yes
And here are some suggestions: Try your USB devices on a different port. Sometimes Windows installs a bad device driver for one device on a port, and for each subsequent device installed, it will think you want to use that bad driver.
Already did. Try opening up a command prompt and changing to the letter you think the drive should have. i.e. If your last drive letter shown in Windows Explorer is E:, try: F:
It says"The system cannot find the drive specified"
