I love threads like this. The problem is, they are usually started by someone that already has a heavy bias and that bias comes out pretty clearly in their assessment.

The next Xbox will come out either '10 or '11 (that's a 5-6 year gap which is seems to be the industry standard). With the rumored price drops, I think Microsoft is gearing up for '10. The PS3 will try to stretch for 6 years due to a need to recoup some of the heavy losses caused by the system and its late bloom. The only reason I think Nintendo might come out with something in '11 (5 years) instead of '12 (6 years) is the limited DLC ability of the Wii. Games that Wii owners would love to play that have lots of DLC, the music games, are very limited on that system. An external hard drive might help, but Nintendo really does need something with an internal hard drive. Given their strategy of not swinging for the graphic fences, I think they can still keep the costs down and have an HD capable Wii successor that still falls within $250 to $300.
